MCZ Collections Operations

Collections Operations serves as a resource to spearhead and coordinate museum-wide initiatives and directives among the ten research collections. These activities include addressing museum compliance and regulation issues, managing museum-wide procedures and protocols, administering the central database, coordinating construction projects for collection renovations and equipment upgrades, overseeing common-use facilities, and representing the collections for plans and initiatives outside the MCZ.

A primary objective is to work with the individual collections to improve resources and support the collections' participation in museum-wide initiatives.

Ongoing projects and support include specimen data capture, collection reorganizations, specimen housing improvements, personnel support, facilitation of best-practice standards, web development and environmental monitoring.
