HMNH Great Mammal Hall
Harvard Museum of Natural History
The Harvard Museum of Natural History was established in 1998 as the public face of the Museum of Comparative Zoology, along with two other Harvard museums (Harvard University Herbaria, Mineralogical and Geological Museum).
The zoological specimens on public display are owned by the MCZ, representing
a small fraction of the 21-million total specimens curated. In presenting
the incomparable collections and research of the MCZ, and Harvard's other
natural history museums, the HMNH has a mission to enhance public understanding
and appreciation of the natural world.
