Former **MCZ** graduate student, [**Carolyn Eng**](http://www.brown.edu/research/labs/robertslab/lab-members), and Professor [**Andrew Biewener**](http://biewenerlab.oeb.harvard.edu/) have co-authored two studies, in the [Journal of Experimental Biology](http://jeb.biologists.org/content/218/15/2382.full?sid=b8b530cd-99a3-4d35-8655-6e93a89a4817) and the [Journal of Biomechanics](http://www.jbiomech.com/article/S0021-9290(15)00354-1/fulltext), that examine how the iliotibial (IT) band stores and releases elastic energy to make walking and running more efficient.
