 MCZ Faculty-Curator [**Gonzalo Giribet**](http://giribetgroup.oeb.harvard.edu/) and graduate student [**Vanessa Knutson**](http://giribetgroup.oeb.harvard.edu/) are currently investigating the mysterious purple organism recently found in the Pacific Ocean. So far they have placed it in the family Pleurobranchiidae.
