 MCZ Director and Faculty-Curator [**James Hanken**](http://hankenlab.oeb.harvard.edu/) was part of a team that discovered three new species of miniaturized salamanders. Found in Oaxaca, Mexico, the salamanders are considered endangered. The findings are published in [*PeerJ*](https://peerj.com/articles/2694/) and featured in [*National Geographic*](http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2016/11/salamanders-amphibians-mexico-endangered/).
