Research by former MCZ graduate student [Talia Moore](https://www.moorebiomechanics.com/) and Faculty-Curator [Andy Biewener](https://biewenerlab.oeb.harvard.edu/people/andrew-biewener) found that jerboas, a bipedal rodent with proportionately large hind limbs, employ unpredictable moves to evade predators, more so than other bipedal and quadropedal rodents. The study was published in [Nature Communications](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-017-00373-2) and featured in [Live Science](https://www.livescience.com/60342-jerboas-erratic-jumps-evade-predators.html).
