Diana received both her BS in Pharmacy and her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She worked in the Peptide Research Group at her alma mater, developing cationic peptides derived from host defense peptides with promising antibacterial and anticancer properties. In 2021, she joined Professor Gerona-Navarro's lab at Brooklyn College as a postdoctoral researcher to rationally design, synthesize, and assess alpha-helix peptides for the inhibition of protein-protein interactions, bridging her interest in advancing peptide chemistry with the development of targeted and precise medicines. In 2024, Diana joined Holford’s lab to advance toxins and peptidyl structures toward safe and effective medicines using recombinant, bioengineered, and/or chemically modified nanostructures.
